Victoria Blackburn is someone you feel comfortable around whether it be sitting across from her at a campfire or listening to her warm, bright voice on an audiobook. She makes it seem as though a good friend is telling you the story. Her years of training in comedy and improv at The Groundlings and IO West in Los Angeles has given her an almost permanent smile in her voice. Playing a variety of sketch shows at UCB and The Straitjacket Society has allowed for a wide range of character possibilities. Entertaining crowds as a standup at The World Famous Comedy Store,, she tends to laugh at herself while performing with a calm, funny and sometimes sarcastic demeanor. Don’t take offense. She really is a nice person.
Victoria can usually be found at the beach writing her own works of fiction, memoir and poetry. When not narrating (and sometimes while narrating) she likes to read chick lit, Y.A., and autobiographies. After receiving a BA in Dramatic Art from UC Davis, Victoria has been performing in plays ever since. Memorable credits include Janice in Member of the Wedding, Laura in The Glass Menagerie and Blanche in Streetcar. Southern accents come naturally, as most of her family is from Mississippi or Tennessee.
Playing the quirky best friend, sweet girlfriend, comforting mom or nosey neighbor on TV and movies pays the bills when she’s not substitute teaching or camp counseling at Jared Leto's 30 Seconds to Mars camp.. Her favorite roles have been Fran, a mom annoyed by Pops on The Goldbergs, a carnival clown in the feature Haunted Maze and a Script Supervisor on The Nobodies opposite Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone.
Reading to children has become second nature as a pay it forward for all the times she and her grandmother, Nana, would read together. This was her favorite past time growing up when she was not in dance classes, recitals, and competitions. Now her hobbies include traveling, trying new restaurants, attending festivals or hair metal concerts, and teaching herself to cook while listening to self-help books.
